Rent a bike using the kiosk at most BIXI stations. Station kiosks that do not have the payment option yet are identified by a blue halo on our system map.
To get a One-Way pass:
- Press on the Start button to turn on the touch screen and select Rent a bike. You can switch the language option by pressing on English.
- Insert or tap your credit card against the card reader.
- Follow the simple instructions to purchase a One-Way pass
- Memorize or print the 5-digit unlock code that appears on the screen at the end of the transaction
- Enter your 5-digit code on the docking point keypad. (The yellow light comes on to indicate that the code is being validated. The green light comes on when the bike is unlocked.)
- Firmly pull the handlebars of the unlocked bicycle out of the docking point. That's it!
To unlock a bike with your BIXI membership:
- Press on the Start button to turn on the touch screen and select Rent a bike. You can switch the language option by pressing on English.
- Insert or tap your credit card associated with your member account.
- Choose Rent a bike as a member. Your card serves as identification, you will not be billed a One-Way pass but will instead use your BIXI membership.
- Memorize or print the 5-digit unlock code that appears on the screen at the end of the transaction
- Enter your 5-digit code on the docking point keypad. (The yellow light comes on to indicate that the code is being validated. The green light comes on when the bike is unlocked.)
- Firmly pull the handlebars of the unlocked bicycle out of the docking point. That's it!
Notes:
If the red light comes on, the bike remains locked. It is possible that the code entered is invalid, that the bike is damaged or that the electric BIXI battery is empty. Try another docking point or call customer service at 514-789-BIXI (2494) or 1-877-820-2453 to report any defects.
